Treloar’s School and College Announces New Principal

Treloar Trust, the groundbreaking School and College for students with disabilities, today announced the appointment of Amanda Quincey as Principal.

Amanda succeeds Pat Teague who is retiring as Principal after four years. Amanda joins Treloar’s from the National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy (NCYPE) where she was Executive Director and Further Education College Principal.

Tony Reid, Chief Executive, Treloar Trust said:
“Amanda has a fantastic track record with extensive experience in both mainstream and specialist colleges. Combined with her background in strategic planning, she was the outstanding candidate for this role.

“Amanda joins at an exciting time. Treloar’s is currently undergoing a £20 million transformation as part of a wide ranging project called Vision Treloar’s. The most ambitious project in the organisation’s history will unite Treloar School and College, creating a single world leading centre of expertise for young people with disabilities.

We foresee Amanda playing a vital role in the implementation of Vision Treloar’s as Principal of both Treloar School and College.

“As an experienced special education leader, Amanda will also help further the development of Treloar’s outreach services over the coming years. Amanda has a clear commitment to multidisciplinary working and a proven ability to improve service delivery and enhance external relationships.”

Amanda Quincey, Principal at Treloar School and College, said:

“Treloar’s is highly regarded as a progressive and forward thinking organisation. The facilities are superb, but it is the staff and students who have made it such a compelling success story. Students thrive in an environment that challenges them to set ambitious goals while also providing them with the care and support they need.

“It’s for this reason that so many Treloar’s students have achieved success, including becoming successful sportsmen, actors, entrepreneurs and advocates for disability policy. I’m looking forward to becoming part of the Treloar’s team and helping it maintain its position as a market leading provider of services for students with learning disabilities and difficulties.”

Treloar’s recently launched a collection of services called FlexiOptions to help local authorities meet new requirements to commission education and training services for young people with disabilities and learning difficulties. FlexiOptions includes the UK’s first mobile assessment service, and short placements for SEN students from mainstream schools and colleges.
